Usain St. Leo Bolt OJ, CD OLY (/ju:seIn/ born 21 August 1986) is a retired Jamaican sprinter. He is the only one to be awarded the Olympic 100 m title as well as the 200 m title at three different Olympics (2008) in 2012, 2008 and 2016, (both in London). He won two gold medals in the relay 4x100. The double sprint win he took at the Beijing Olympics 2008 Olympics brought him world-wide recognition. He was the first athlete to hold both the world record and fully automated times, since they were made mandatory. x 100 metres relay gold medals from 2009 until 2015 except for an error of 100 metres in 2011. Bolt is the most successful male athlete of the World Championships. Bolt is the first athlete to win four World Championship titles in the 200 m and is one of the top performers in the 100 m event, having won three titles.Bolt improved upon his second 100 m world record of 9.69 by a time of 9.58 seconds in 2009 - the biggest improvement since the introduction of electronic timing. Bolt has twice broken the 200 m world record and set it in 2009.
