Ja Rule

 Jeffrey Bruce Atkins (born February 29, 1976),better known by his stage name Ja Rule (/dZa :/), is an American rapper and actor. He was born and raised in New York City and debuted with Venni Vetti Vecci's lead track, "Holla Holla". In the early 2000s, Ja Rule was signed to Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. Records, formerly known as The Inc. From 1999 to 2005, Ja Rule had multiple singles that reached the top 20 of the U.S. The Billboard Hot 100 chart featured "Between Me and You", "I'm Real Murder Remix" and "I'm Funny (both featuring Jennifer Lopez). The number one song, "Always on Time" was performed by Ashanti. "Mesmerize," featuring Ashanti, "Between Me and You" was also an Billboard Hot 100 hit. Following the release of his platinum-selling debut album Venni Vetti Vecci (1999) and his 2nd and 3rd albums, Rule 3:36 (2000) and Pain Is Love (2001). Both albums reached the top of the US Billboard 200 album chart which helped him enter the mainstream,
