David Walter Foster OC, OBC (born November 1, 1949) is a Canadian musician as a composer, arranger and record producer. He is also a music executive who chaired Verve Records from 2012 to the year 2016. With 47 nominations, he has been awarded 16 Grammy Awards. From 47 nominations Foster's music career has been a continuous five decades. He played the keyboard for Skylark in the early 1970s. Foster also worked as producer on two albums by The Tubes, 1981's The Completion backward Principle and 1983's Outside Inside. Foster composed songs like "Talk to Ya Later" with Tubes singer Fee Waybill and Steve Lukather of Toto, as well as the Top 40 hit "Don’t Want to Wait Anymore". He also co-wrote the US number 10 song "She’s A Beauty". Foster was a co-writer as well as a keyboard player in the 1980 Boz Scaggs album Middle Man. The songs featured included "Breakdown Dead ahead", "Jojo", "Simone", and "Look at What You've Doe to Me" from Urban Cowboy.
