Renee Kathleen Zellweger and /r@’neI ‘zelweg@r/ was an American actress. She was born on April 25, 1969. She has been the recipient of numerous awards including two Academy Awards and two British Academy Film Awards. In 2007, she was one of the highest-paid actors around the globe. Zellweger was born and was raised in Texas. After a brief appearance on stage in college Zellweger initially wanted to pursue a career as a journalist. But she discovered acting appealing after her short work on stage. After a few performances in Dazed & Confused (1993) as well as Reality Bites (1994), she was offered a leading role in Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Next Generation (1994). She rose to prominence by playing a lead role in the romantic comedy Jerry Maguire (1996), the drama One True Thing (1998) as well as the black comedy Nurse Betty (2000), receiving a Golden Globe Award for the final of these.For portraying Bridget Jones in the romantic comedy Bridget Jones's Diary (2001) and Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago (2002), Zellweger received consecutive nominations for the Academy Award for Best Actress.
