Pete Hegseth

 Peter Brian Hegseth was born June 6 in 1980. He is an American TV host as well as an author and Army National Guard officer. He also served as the executive director of two of the political advocacy organizations Vets For Freedom (now Concerned Veterans for America). The former is a conservative-leaning advocacy group supported by the Koch brothers, supports more privatization for the Department of Veteran Affairs.He was considered to lead the United States Department of Veterans Affairs under the Trump administration, however in January of 2017, David Shulkin was selected instead.Hegseth has been involved in both conservative and Republican politics since his days as an undergraduate at Princeton University. He was a prominent advocate of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and served as an advisor on occasion throughout his presidency. He reportedly persuaded Trump to pardon three American soldiers who were convicted of war crimes relating to shooting non-combatants during the war in Iraq. Hegseth was a Guantanamo bay platoon commander during his military service and he defended the treatment of inmates who were detained.
