(Much more information on this is in the next paragraph). After having left the White House, Pence has made several million dollars from public speaking expenses and a seven figure book advance. The most well-known of them is Mike Pence, who was the vice president of Donald Trump between 2016 and 2020. Prior to being VP Pence was the governor of Indiana between 2013 and 2017 and also a Member of the US House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013. Before entering politics, Pence worked as a talk-radio host for Indiana. Mike unsuccessfully ran for Congress numerous times in the mid 80s/90s. His first run was in 2000. He was a congressman from 2000-2012 until he was elected governor of Indiana. He has been married to his wife Karen since 1985 and they have three children. He was born Catholic however he converted to a nondenominational Christian while in college. Pence is a fervent right-wing Christian nationalist, is famous for his anti-abortion and his anti-LGBT stances. He was also a target of the insurrectionists that stormed the US Capitol on the 6th of January , 2021.
