Charley Jordan, born July 11, 1890, died on November 15th the 15th of November, 1954. He was an American St. Louis Blues singer, songwriter, guitarist and talent scout. Jordan played with Peetie Wheatstraw, Roosevelt Sykes, Casey Bill Weldon and Memphis Minnie. He was famous for his "crisply-firm guitar" and was the subject of many of his greatest hits including "Keep it Clean". It was due to his extra-musical profession as bootlegger. This gave him a long term disability and resulted in him walking on crutches afterward (which is evident in the limited photos of Jordan that are available).
