 Kendrick Lamar Duckworth born on 17 June 1987 was an American rapper and songwriter. The renowned for his unique musical styles and his socially conscious songwriting, he's frequently regarded as to be one of the most powerful hip hop performers in his generation.Born and raised in Compton, California, Lamar started his professional career as a teen performing under the stage name K.Dot. He soon gained the attention of locals which led to him signing the recording contract with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2005.After becoming a founder member of the hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, Lamar dropped his stage name and began using his middle and first names professionally. In 2011, Lamar released his first studio album Section.80 A conscious hip-hop album. The album received praise and also included his debut single "HiiiiPower". Lamar was signed to a record deal under Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment in 2012 and released his second studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. The album, which was heavily in the style of West Coast and Gangsta Rap was a huge critical and commercial success. The album also included the singles "Swimming Pools(Drank)" and "Swimming Pools ("Drank")".
