Ken Burns

Ken Burns is an American director and producer who has an estimated net worth of $3.5 million. American filmmaker Ken Burns is well-known for his many documentaries and documentary series about historical topics. His most notable works include "The Civil War," Jazz," Prohibition," The Roosevelts," and the "Vietnam War." Burns' filmmaking style has been praised for his use of archive footage and slow zooms into photographs and out of them which is known as"the "Ken Burns effect. "Burns has also been the recipient of more than 20 honorary degrees. The film he directed "The Civil War" was a huge success, winning over 40 important TV and film awards, including two Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award (from the Producers Guild of America), a People's Choice Award and a Peabody Award. He also was awarded the duPont–Columbia Prize as well as a D. W. Griffith Award. The $50,000 Lincoln Prize was awarded to him. The documentary he made in 2017 "The Vietnam War" was also lauded.There is the Ken Burns Wing at the Jerome Liebling Center for Film, Photography and Video at Hampshire College. Burns was awarded the S. Roger Horchow award for the most outstanding public service performed by private citizens in 2004. This is an award that Jefferson Awards gives out each year.
