Spencer Michael Rattler, an American football player, was born September 28 1999. He plays in the NCAA football league for South Carolina. Rattler started his college career at Oklahoma before transferring to South Carolina in 2021.Going into his redshirt freshman season, Rattler competed with Tanner Mordecai for the starting job. Lincoln Riley announced on September 1 that Rattler was chosen to start the season as the quarterback instead of Mordecai. Rattler made his debut against Missouri State on September 12. Rattler broke the Oklahoma record for touchdowns with 8 passes in just two weeks on the 26th of September. This record was set by Sam Bradford back in 2008. But, his first start began with a rough start when he and his Sooners were defeated by Kansas State in his second start. In his third game, Rattler threw for 300 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game that ended in a defeat at Iowa State. This loss ended an unbeaten streak that was characterized by Iowa State lose 24 consecutive home games to Oklahoma. Rattler and the Sooners made a comeback with a win over Texas in the Red River Rivalry game. He was active during the College Football Playoff Semifinal Game against LSU.
