Sara Lynn Evans (/'se@r@born on 5 February 1971) is an American country music singer and songwriter. She is also acknowledged as a producer of records as well as an actress and writer. Five of her songs have reached the top spot on Billboard's country songs charts and she's sold more than six million albums. Nine more singles made the Billboard top 10 spots, including "I Could Not Wait for More", I Keep Looking" as well as "Cheatin'". "Saints & Angels", Backseat of a Greyhound Bus", and "As As" are among the top 20 charting singles. The singer has been awarded awards from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. She has also been nominated for a variety of other awards from both organizations which include Female Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year.Evans was raised in New Franklin, Missouri and began singing with her siblings in the Evans Family Band. They performed in New Franklin, Missouri throughout her childhood and teenage years. Evans and her older brother Matt, and Evans formed their own band during her teenage years. They moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1991, to pursue a career as country music artists.
