Nelson Mandela was a South African political activist, anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician and philanthropist. He had an estimated net worth of one million dollars at the time when he died in December 2013. Nelson Mandela was President of South Africa between 1994 and 1999. The bulk of Mandela's net worth came from royalties from his books and he made his money from the 1994 bestseller "Long Walk to Freedom". Nelson was a speaker who spoke only when his health was good. Mandela was president who cut his salary.
