 Meles Zenawi net worth: Meles Zenawi was an Ethiopian politician and businessman who had an estimated net worth of $3 billion. Meles Zenawi is the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia. Zenawi was the president of Ethiopia between 1991 and 1995 was the premier of his country. He was also chairman of Tigrayan People's Liberation Front (TPLF) and also the head of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) in the eighties. He was appointed Prime Minister of Ethiopia from 1995 (until his death in August 2012) Zenawi was widely praised as one Africa's strongmen who introduced the multi-party political system, private press in the country and cutting down on the number of children dying. Zenawi was also heavily involved in the US' War on Terror, helping to eliminate military organisations such as Al Qaeda. Zenawi was also praised for his efforts to establish an excellent relationship with the African Union. He played an important part in advancing Africa's position in relation to climate change. But his leadership style came under fire, when the accusation was that he had abused several human rights issues , and depriving the right of expression and press.
