LaMelo Ball

 LaMelo LaFrance (born August 22, 2001) is an American professional basketball player who plays with the Charlotte Hornets (NBA). The Hornets picked him as the third pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Ball was named as the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2021. He also named an NBA All-Star the following season in 2022.Ball began high school at Chino Hills High School in Chino Hills, California, where he was the winner of the state championship as well as national success as a freshman alongside his brothers Lonzo and LiAngelo. Following his junior year, a dispute with his coach prompted him to sign with Prienai, the Lithuanian professional team Prienai. In 2018, he participated in the Junior Basketball Association (JBA), a league created by his father. He then going back to school in high school with SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. Ball was a five-star college recruit and committed to UCLA however, he decided to leave college basketball because of issues with eligibility and instead play in Australia with the Illawarra Hawks of the National Basketball League (NBL) in 2019. The team saw a dramatic rise. Previously, scouts had ridiculed Ball as the second-round pick, and a possibility of never making it into the NBA.
