 Ken Burns is an American producer and director with a net worth of $3.5 million. Ken Burns is an American filmmaker, known for his numerous documentaries as well as documentary series on a variety of historical topics. His most renowned works include "The Civil War,"" "Jazz," "Prohibition," "The Roosevelts," and "The Vietnam War." Burns his filmmaking style has been praised for his utilization of archive footage as well as slow zooms into and out of photos which is known as the "Ken Burns effect. Burns has been honored with more than 20 honorary degrees. His film "The Civil War" was a huge success, winning over 40 important film and television awards, included two Emmy Awards and two Grammy Awards, Producer of the Year Award (from the Producers Guild of America) as well as the People's Choice Award and a Peabody Award. He also received a duPont–Columbia Award and the D. W. Griffith Award. The $50,000 Lincoln Prize was awarded to him. His documentary from 2017 "The Vietnam War" was equally lauded.There is the Ken Burns Wing at the Jerome Liebling Center for Film, Photography and Video at Hampshire College. Burns was given the S. Roger Horchow award for the highest level of public service rendered by an individual in 2004. This is an award that Jefferson Awards gives out each year.
