 Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972) is also known as his ring name The Rock, is an American actor and former professional wrestler. The Rock is widely considered to be one of the best professional wrestlers of all time. The contribution he made to the growth of the World Wrestling Federation, now WWE, during the Attitude Era (an time of boom in the industry during the late 1990s and early 2000s) was widely recognized. Johnson worked for the WWF for 18 years before making the decision to pursue a career in acting. Johnson, who was an actor prior to when he became a top-grossing actor in the 2010s, had previously wrestled with the WWF for 8 years. Johnson was an outstanding athlete in Freedom High School, Bethlehem Township, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley. He played on the school's football and wrestling teams. This is a conference that is known for its production of Olympic as well as professional athletes. He credits his coach at the high school level with helping inspire transformational modifications in his life.
