Jo Koy

 Joseph Glenn Herbert (born June 2, 1971) is known as Jo Koy, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He was a regular panelist on E! He was an often-repeated panelist on E!'s late-night program Chelsea Lately. Since then, he has seen a variety of Comedy Central and Netflix specials. His father was an white American who was stationed in the Philippines with the United States Air Force when he was born. After graduating from high school, Tacoma, Washington Spanaway was moved to Tacoma, Washington and then Las Vegas. He originally attended Spanaway Lake High School and then transferred to Foss High School in Tacoma. He moved to Las Vegas with his grandmother who was suffering from illness. Jo Koy enrolled in the University of Nevada, Las Vegas but dropped out to pursue stand-up comedy.Jo Koy's stage name stems from a nickname that his family used to call him as a child. On the 22nd of September the 22nd of September, 2019, he announced that he was talking to his cousin about the name of a stage when his aunt called him and asked to come along for dinner. (Ko means "my" in Tagalog, so Jo Ko means "my Jo"). He misheard it and thought she said "Koy," decided it was a suitable name and has used it ever from then on.
