He was the most wealthy person on earth without interruption between October 2017 until January 2021.According to the latest SEC report, Jeff owns 55 million shares of Amazon, roughly 12% of the total shares that are outstanding. He owned over 80 million Amazon shares at the height of his wealth. Jeff gave 19.7 million shares to his wife as part of the agreement to divorce in April with MacKenzie Bezos. At the time of the transfer was $36 billion. Jeff's net worth fluctuated from $150 billion down to $114 billion after the settlement. Jeff was also a pre-IPO shareholder in Google.com. He holds around $1 billion worth of shares of Alphabet Inc. This was before his divorce, so there are still 80 million shares. Jeff's net worth hit an all-time high of $170 billion in that time.
