Jeff Bezos is an American businessman, philanthropist, and space explorer who is most likely best known for his creation of Amazon.com. Jeff Bezos, the founder as chief executive officer, chief operating officer, and president of Amazon.com is also the chairman of the company's board. He was the first to surpass Bill Gates in terms of wealth in July of 2017. Between October 2017 and January 20,21 He was the most wealthy person on earth. At his peak his holdings were 80 million shares of Amazon. In the April 2019 divorce settlement with MacKenzie Bezos, Jeff transferred 19.7 million shares to his ex-wife. The value of shares as of transfer was $36 billion. The settlement temporarily reduced Jeff's net worth by $150 billion to $114 billion. Jeff was also an early pre-IPO investor in Google.com and owns at least $1 billion of shares in the company now known as Alphabet Inc.For most of the decade, Jeff was not even in the top 10 or top 20 most wealthy people in the world. In the latter half of 2014, Amazon stock started to increase in value.
