Anson Williams (born Anson William Heimlich, September 25, 1949, in Los Angeles, California) is an American actor as well as a singer and director. He is most well-known for his portrayal of the a well-intentioned, gullible and well-intentione Warren "Potsie" Weber on the television series Happy Days (1974-1984), a role that earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor - Series Miniseries or Television Film.Unlike Howard and Most, Williams was one of the few actors to stay on for all of the runtime of the show, even though his appearances were less frequent in the later seasons. In a few episodes, Richie, Potsie, and Ralph created a band that performed at Arnold's Drive-In, among other venues. As Potsie, Williams actually sang the lead vocals in the group. Williams's former wife Lorrie Mahaffey was the singer who sang the lead vocals for the group. Williams later returned to Happy Days in a retrospective way.
