 Lea Thompson is an American actress, produce and director who has a net worth of $14 million. Lea Thompson is best known for her performance as Lorraine Baines-McFly in the "Back to the Future" film trilogy. Her other film credits have included "Howard the Duck," "Red Dawn,"" "Some Kind of Wonderful," and "The Beverly Hillbillies." On TV, Thompson starred on the 90s sitcom "Caroline in the City" and the 2010s family drama "Switched at Birth. "Lea Thompson was born May 31, 1961 in Rochester, Minnesota as one of five children born to Barbara and Clifford. Her siblings include Coleen, Shannon and Barry. Thompson began ballet as a child and was able to dance professionally at the age of 14. She won scholarships to such institutions such as San Francisco Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. After Mikhail Baryshnikov, the director of artistic direction at the American Ballet Theatre, told Thompson she was not stocky for the main dance company Thompson made the choice to pursue acting. Thompson would appear in advertisements for Burger King with Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elisabeth Shue, and the latter would play Thompson's character in the sequels to "Back to the Future".
