He also is an actor, businessman, and musician. Donnie Wahlberg was born Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr. on the 17th of August 1969 in Boston Massachusetts. Donnie was born in Dorchester which is an Irish-American community. He is the eighth of nine children born to Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr, driver of a delivery truck and teamster, and Alma, a nurse's assistant. His younger brother is fellow actor/singer/producer Mark Wahlberg. On the side of his mother, Wahlberg is distantly related to Nathaniel Hawthorne. Donnie was raised in a tight-knit family who was a regular attender at church on Sundays. The problems of having the size of a family were numerous. There were numerous fights between the siblings and cash shortages. Their parents divorced in 1982, when Donnie was 12 years old. Mark and Donnie decided to live with Mark as the rest of their siblings were living on their own or with their father.
