 D.L. Hughley is an American comedian, actor, author, and radio host, with an estimated net worth of more than of $10 million is Hughley. D.L. Hughley is most well-known as the host of BET's ComicView in the 1990s. D.L. is among the members of The Original Kings of Comedy Along with Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Bernie Mac.D.L. Hughley, aka Darryl Lynn Hughley, was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on March 6, 1963. He was the son of Audrey and Charles Hughley, a Delta Air Lines maintenance worker. Following D.L., the family lived in Portsmouth only for two months. He was born in Portsmouth, before the family relocated to California. The place he was born was South Central Los Angeles. As a teenager the teen was part of the street gang The Bloods. After being expelled from San Pedro High School he was determined to obtain his GED and quit to gangs. In 1992, he was expelled from San Pedro High School. He was then able to work at The Los Angeles Times as a host of the comedy show "ComicView" on BET. The show was a success and he continued to host until 1993. In 1998, he was granted his own television show that he created, directed, and played in. From 2002 to 2002, the show aired 89 shows over four seasons on ABC and UPN.
